The Metro rail authority has a plan to extend this route up to Ballabgarh by adding two new station NCB colony and Ballabgarh in the year 2017 only. This line 6 once fully operational will be 43.4 km and will be from Kashmiri Gate to Ballabgarh with total 32 stations and five will be inter change stations like central secretariate, Lajpat Nagar, Kashmiri Gate, Mandi house and Kalka Ji Mandir.
